Pornography and the Law

Trial judges have been known to read portions of it to instruct the jury, and the Danish Ministry of Justice informed the Kronhausens that their book had been instrumental in bringing about the abolition of censorship in Denmark.

The Kronhausens presented the classic obscenity cases and used extended, unexpurgated passages from such "questionable works" as the writings of Ovid, Aretino and Casanova, Lady Chatterly's Lover, My Life and Loves by Frank Harris, Mark Twain's 1601, Memoirs of Hecate County, and The Tropic of Cancer. In addition, they delved into the psychosexual implications of sadism and masochism, homosexuality, masturbatory fantasies, stag movies flaggelation and voyeurism.
