Η πρώτη φορά που συναντήθηκαν η Νίνα Μπρόκµαν και η Έλλεν Στόκκεν Νταλ ήταν σε µία συνάντηση για την πρόσληψη εκπαιδευτών σεξουαλικής αγωγής, όταν ξεκινούσαν τις σπουδές τους στην ιατρική, στο Όσλο. Δεν µπορούσαν τότε να φανταστούν ότι η συνεργασία τους στην επίδειξη χρήσης προφυλακτικού µε µπανάνες θα εξελισσόταν σε µια µακρόχρονη συνεργασία. Έξι χρόνια αργότερα, εξακολουθούν και οι δύο να ασχολούνται το ίδιο σοβαρά µε τη σεξουαλική υγεία και τη δηµόσια εκπαίδευση, τόσο ως εκπαιδεύτριες όσο και ως επαγγελµατίες υγείας. Έχουν συµµετάσχει επίσης σε δηµόσιες συζητήσεις µε θέµατα όπως ο παρθενικός υµένας και η πλαστική χειρουργική των γεννητικών οργάνων. Το βιβλίο γεννήθηκε από όλες τις ερωτήσεις που έχουν αντιµετωπίσει σε αυτό το ταξίδι και είναι ένας διασκεδαστικός οδηγός για όλα όσα χρειάζεται να ξέρει µια γυναίκα για τα γεννητικά της όργανα.
